Key Performance Indicators for Digital Recruitment Process

 

Introduction

It is crucial to have a skilled and capable workforce within any organization to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Thus, it is essential to recruit the right individuals to the right position at an effective cost. Accordingly, recruitment is a crucial function of HRM to ensure a capable workforce within organizations. Contemporary organizations tend to move beyond the traditional recruitment processes and they tend to digitalize the recruitment practices with the COVID 19 pandemic. However, most organizations become failures due to inabilities with establishing the most appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the recruitment process (Ingersoll, 2020).

Digital recruitment activities are based on the different technologies to source, fascinate, evaluate, select and hire candidates for organizational positions. Caree websites, social media,

Online assessments and recruiting, online interviews are largely connected with digital recruitment process (Vardarlier, 2020). Digital recruitment make easier the firms’ recruitment procedures and it is helpful to assess candidates online and offer prompted feedbacks (Purvis, 2016).

KPIs for Digital Recruitment

KPIs are crucial for measuring the effectiveness of the recruitment process and its outcomes. Recruitment KPIs help to determine the improvement needs of the recruitment process and emphasize the return on recruitment investment. Recruitment KPIs involves both usual performance metrics and exclusive indicators for recruitment. KPIs are crucial in digital recruitment and such prevailing KPIs can be mentioned as follows (Furtmueller, et al., 2011).

 

       I.            Clicks -Click through Rate

Organization can be evaluated the number of job seekers who clicked on their recruitment advertisement. It helps organizations to determine whether their add reached larger population, need further boosting (Click through rate = Total views/number of clicked on the add) (Ingersoll, 2020).

 

    II.            Cost per Click

It is crucial to measure the cost associated with the online recruitment to determine whether the firm’s recruitment effort is effective (Catalyst, 2019).

 

 III.            Tracking the most effective source of recruitment

Digital recruitment involves with several online sources such as social media, google etc., and need to evaluate the effectiveness of those to determine the most effective sources (Catalyst, 2019).

 

  IV.            Cost Per Hire

It is essential to determine the digital recruitment cost per an individual to evaluate the effectiveness of the recruitment process (Catalyst, 2019).

 

     V.            Time to Hire

It is crucial to evaluate the time incurred for hiring employee via digital platforms (Ingersoll, 2020).

 

  VI.            Quality of Hire

Organizations should measure the quality of candidates who recruited via online platforms to determine the effectiveness of online sources (Jurmu, 2020).

Digital recruitment practices make organizational recruitment process easier and organizations need to more aware of establishing effective and applicable KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment practices as KPIs can be largely used for making effective decisions.
