Importance of Intrapreneurial mindset in an organization

Intrapreneurship??

Intrapreneurship also known as corporate entrepreneurship in an existing organization. It was initiated by Susbauer in 1973 after understanding of the concept of entrepreneurship. As (Rekha, et al., 2015) explain intrapreneurship is the entrepreneurship spirit of the employees working in established organization.

 Mindset??

Mindset is the way the brain and the mind of individuals accept processes, analyze or perceive and reasoning to the incoming information through the senses (Yunus, 2014).

Develop an intrapreneurial mindset

Intrapreneurship is the skill of acting an entrepreneur within the existing organization that his/ her attitude and mindset is valued and highly encouraged (Clark, 2019) by many succeeding companies in order to make success in the competitive market.

Why Intrapreneurial Mindset Important in an Organization??

 

Current business world is highly competitive where if an individual company fails to update their strategies to attract new customers will face difficulties to sustain in the market. Hence current business conditions in the big companies encourages their employees to become equipped with passion and knowledge as an intrapreneur (Dhewanto, 2013).

Growth; The goal of intrapreneurship is to create an entrepreneurial mindset and infrastructure that require to support the growth. Intrapreneurial employee helps to their organizations to generate new business growth.

Ex: Apple’s Macintosh computer or Mac is a product which brought a significant growth of the Apple’s market which was an innovative product created by the group of intrapreneurs organized by Steve Jobs (Frost, 2019).

Change; Intrapreneurs think differently and they willing to break the rules for the sake of finding new ventures. They are act as change agents. They not just driving but modeling the change so others get onboard. Intrapreneurship accelerate and manage the change.

Ex: The prototype of the “Like” button in Facebook was developed as an intrapreneurship by hackathons

Engagement; Intrapreneurship provides a basement to engage employees in work which is challenging and worthy. This passion and determination make others to involved and try new things (Foley, 2013).

Conclusion

Recent past, the business world gives more value on innovations which leads to rise of new venture year on year. Because world changes rapidly with the advancement in technology which increases the competitiveness among companies in the industry. In the place which companies want to rise above their competitor’s intrapreneurship is sharpen weapon that bring companies to their expected growth and success.

It would completely transform the organization to a much more competitive organization if strategically placed. I am keen to know the disadvantages of the practise of intrapreneurship as well.     1. As an entrepreneur is extremely difficult, Many surprising and attracted to the idea of intrapreneurship. It promises the same creative outlet as entrepreneurship with the stability of a traditional career. However, given the additional hurdles faced by intrapreneurs, most entrepreneurs would be better off taking the plunge and launching their business as an independent company.

  2. According to me Intrapreneur, refers to individuals, sub-organizations, and organizations levels. In addition, in-house ventures have different contexts, such as organizational culture and personal values.

Entrepreneurship, the ability to act as an entrepreneur within an organization, is an attitude and mindset that is appreciated and encouraged in many businesses today.
